Giasuddin Taheri

Giasuddin Taheri, or Muhammad Gyasuddin Taheri, is a Bangladeshi Sunni Muslim scholar and orator adhering to the ideology of Ahlesunnat wal Jamaat. He was an alumnus of Qadriya Tayyebia Aalia Madrasa of Dhaka.[1] He is a mureed of Tahir Shah Qadri of Sirikot, Pakistan, so he received the honorific Taheri as the Nisbat to Allama Taher Shah Qadri Sirikoti. He is originally from the Brahmanbaria district of Bangladesh but has fan followings throughout Bangladesh due to his unique style of delivering Bangla waz against Wahabis and Deobandis. He is a follower of Maslak e Aala Hazrat and has participated in various international Aala Hazrat Conferences across Bangladesh.[2]

Life and Careeredit

Taheri received his initial education from Islamia Alim Madrasa, Brahmanbaria before enrolling himself in Qadriya Tayyabia Aalia Madrasa of Muhammadpur, Dhaka.[3] He is the founder of Dawate Imani foundation, Bangladesh and a general secretary of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Brahmanbaria district.[4]

Attacksedit

During his career of over 20 years Taheri faced several attacks from his 'Wahabi-Deobandi' opponents in the form of false legal cases against him which was later dismissed by the court as "baseless". He also faced harassment in the form of vandalism of his car in October, 2024.[5] Apart from these physical and mental tortures, Wahabi-deobandi opponents also tried to manipulate Taheri's Waz video through Artificial intelligence in an attempt to defame him. Several fake videos of Taheri are available on internet which were edited in an attempt to spoil the image of Giasuddin Taheri as an Islamic scholar.
